How to download Instagram videos
Feed videos and IGTV posts are public media like reels. The download flow is identical: copy the post link, paste it, choose MP4, and save.

Supported post types
- Standard feed videos.
- IGTV long-form posts.
- Video items inside a carousel post.
- Public reels — see the dedicated reels guide.
The download flow
- Open the video post. Find the video or IGTV post on Instagram. The account must be public, not private or close-friends only.
- Copy the post link. Tap the three-dot menu on the post and choose Copy link. On desktop, copy the address bar URL.
- Paste it into the downloader. Open the Instagram downloader, paste the link, and let the preview load with its thumbnail.
- Select the video file. Pick the MP4 option. The file carries the original audio and the resolution Instagram serves for that post.
- Save it to your device. Confirm the download, wait for the sponsor countdown, and open the file from your downloads.
Quality and file size
The MP4 matches the source Instagram serves for that post. Short clips are usually a few megabytes; longer IGTV episodes can be considerably larger, so check your mobile data if you are not on Wi-Fi.
What is not supported
Photos, image carousels, stories, highlights, and direct messages are not processed. A story link is not a post link and will be rejected. Profile links are also rejected — you need the link to one specific post.
Troubleshooting
If the preview does not appear, confirm that the post is public and still online. Links copied from the app sometimes contain a user identifier and extra parameters; that is fine, but a shortened link from a third-party app may not resolve. Copy the link directly from Instagram for the most reliable result.
Use it responsibly
Saving a public post does not transfer ownership. Credit the creator when you share, and get permission before any commercial use or re-upload.
